The main aim of the Foundation is to promote the most advanced scientific research, as well as to spread the culture of communication. This should be intended as an exchange of information, which can be reached only by exploiting all the possibilities offered by the media, from the simplest word, through the press, until the latest data transmission technologies.

The Foundation is determined to forward the know-how expansion in the communication field through significant means such as the training of the human resources, the mutual exchange of experience, the research and experimentation.
The Foundation partners are the Province of Genoa and the Sestri Levante Council: any partnership with private associates will always be possible.
The headquarters of the Mediterraneo Foundation are in Sestri Levante, in an extremely picturesque complex, which is made up by the former Dominican Fathers Abbey and by The Negrotto Cambiaso Palace.
The Foundation, apart from organising congresses, hosts long and short-term projects, as well as initiatives co-ordinated by resident partners.

"...in order to reach its aims, the Foundation carries out some essential operational activities. Among these are: the professional training, the specialised training, seminars and conventions, the development of databases, the administration of museums, the research and development..."
